Helen A. Wolf, 92, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on March 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She was born to the late Henry M. and Cecilia M. (Martin) Kissel on October 7, 1931, in Haubstadt, IN.
Helen was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she and her husband had received the Brute Award in 2004. She was a volunteer at Holy Cross School, a catechist for the SPRED group, a volunteer for the United Caring Shelters, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary #280 Knights of St. John in Haubstadt. Helen grew up on the Vanderburgh County farm. Helen attended St. James Catholic School in Haubstadt and was a proud graduate of the 1949 class at FJ Reitz High School. After graduating high school, she attended Lockyear Business College and worked as a secretary for Whirlpool, WJPS radio station, and Servel. She married her loving husband, Harold Wolf on May 13, 1961, and they had 5 children. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlepoint, embroidery, and gardening flowers and vegetables. She especially loved baking bread, which she baked for many First Communions at Holy Cross.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Vincent Kissel, Raymond Kissel, Earl Kissel, Nolan Kissel, Rosalyn Ousler, and Henry Kissel.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Harold Wolf of Newburgh, IN; children, Brian (Tracy) Wolf of Haubstadt, IN, Gregory Wolf of Fort Branch, IN, Daniel Wolf of Haubstadt, IN, Alan (Mari) Wolf of Fort Branch, IN, and Karen (Doug) Adler of Haubstadt, IN; siblings, Edna Becker of Evansville, IN, John (Phyllis) Kissel of Princeton, IN, Harold Kissel of Haubstadt, IN, and David Kissel of Athens, GA; grandchildren, Haley Wolf, Austin Wolf, Michael Adler, Kristen (Joel) Kuykendoll, Allison Adler, Megan Adler, Katelyn Adler and Andrew Adler; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, with Father Gary Kaiser as celebrant. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with visitation to follow until mass time. Committal services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery following mass. Donations in her honor can be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
