Robert J. Wallis, 88, of Princeton, IN, passed away at Heart-to-Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN, on February 7, 2024. He was born to the late John L. and Wilhelmene (Johnson) Wallis on December 27, 1935, in Fort Branch, IN.
Robert was a member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Fort Branch. He graduated from Fort Branch High School and served in the United States Army. He worked hard his whole life on the family farm. He was an avid tractor pull fan, having traveled to many county fairs to see the events, and a big NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Scott (Julie) Wallis of Princeton, IN and Kenneth (Ruthann) Wallis of Escondido, CA; a sister, JoAnn (Phil) Rodman of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 6 grandchildren, Kuri Wallis, Elizabeth (Robbie) Vaught, Abby (Brad) Winter, Dylan (Kristen) Wallis, Jerry Robert “JR” (Nikki) Wallis, and Harrison Wallis; 10 great grandchildren, Henry Winter, Ben Winter, George Winter, Lilly Vaught, Bobby Wallis, Brody Wallis, Kingston Wallis, McKinley Wallis, Remington Wallis, Montgomery Wallis; and 2 nephews, Jim (Diana) Rodman and Rick (Odalys) Rodman.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with Pastor Kenneth Wallis and Scott Wallis officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN, following the service. Expressions of sympathy can be made at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
