Vivian Ruth Jackson, 90, of Owensville, IN, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 25, 2024. She was born to the late B. Lloyd and Amy Ruth (Ford) Louks on November 30, 1933, in Boone County.
Vivian was a member of the Mackey Church of the Nazarene Owensville Campus. She retired from Prudential where she did clerical work. She married her loving husband, Reverend Jesse H. Jackson on June 26, 1954, and together they had 4 beautiful children. She was a woman of many talents including crocheting, sewing, and playing the piano, the organ, and the accordion. She made all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren their baby blankets. In the winters, she liked to travel to Florida where she played all sorts of games including shuffleboard and skipbo.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Rev. Jesse H. Jackson; siblings, Naomi Abraham and Orpha Craib; brother-in-laws, Basil Craib and Thomas Clark; nephews, Todd Clark and David Abraham; grandchild, Andrew Harris; and great grandchild, Logan Gellert.
Vivian is survived by her children, Joyce Harris of Greenwood, IN, Sharon Bankert of Anderson, IN, Margaret (Dave) Miller of Owensville, IN, and Donna (Scott) Imel of Anderson, IN; sister, Mary Clark of Thorntown, IN; brother-in-law, Ronald Abraham of Thorntown, IN; grandchildren, Chris (Sabrina) Harris, John (Cynthia) Miller, Amy (Jonathan) Pritchett, Jessica Gellert, Daniel (Brittany) Bankert, Hannah (Daniel) Gilchrist, and Noah Imel; 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. CST at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, with Pastor Jared Henry officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. CST until service time. The burial will be at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery in Bicknell, IN.
