Doris A. Martin, 72, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on September 26, 2017. She was born to the late Clem and Nettie (Obert) Kiesel on October 17, 1944 in Haubstadt, IN.

Doris graduate from Haubstadt High School as the valedictorian in 1962. She married her husband Stephen in October of 1964. She worked as a banker for 35 years and as secretary at Haubstadt Community School for 10 years. She is a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sts. Peter and Paul Alter Society and a recipient of the Brute Award. She loved doing readings in church, quilting, camping with her friends, being with her kids and grandkids, golf cart riding, gardening, and flowers.

Besides her parents, Doris is preceded in death by a brother; Marvin Kiesel, and 2 sisters; Eloise Ziliak and Rosie Elpers.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 53 years, Stephen Martin of Haubstadt, IN, children; Alan (Tamora) Martin of Grayson, GA, Thomas (Christine) Martin of Haubstadt, IN, Ryan (Sally) Martin of Santa Claus, IN, sisters; Aline (Bernie) Elpers of Haubstadt, IN, Marilyn (Bob) Sokeland of Fort Branch, IN, and grandchildren; Treva, Kenzie, Samuel, Rachel, and Gabriel Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with Father Tony Ernst as the celebrant. Visitation will be on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN and again on Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until service time. Rosary service will be on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Donations can be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or to Riley Children’s Hospital.
