Dr. Michael W. Green, 82 of Ft. Branch, IN died Sunday, October 21st, 2018 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN. He was born to the late Michael and Josephine (Doliana) Green on February 6, 1936 in Terre Haute, IN. He was retired from South Gibson Corporation, where he was Superintendent of Schools from 1979-2002. He graduated from Van Buren High School in Brazil, IN and received his degrees from Indiana State University. Mike was a trustee board member of Gibson General Hospital and was a board member of the Evansville Catholic Diocese. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Nascar fan, but his greatest love with his wife DeAnn, of 47 years, and his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family will miss his intellect and words of wisdom, but most who knew him will miss his great stories.
Mike was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ft. Branch. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, DeAnn C. Green, in 2004. He is survived by his daughter, LeAnn S. Cooper (Chris) of Ft. Branch; two sons Michael J. Green (MaryJo) of Dayton, OH and Martin A. Green (Alene) of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Helen Austgen, South Bend, IN and Delores Beath (Lyn) of Mishawaka, IN; 5 grandchildren Christopher M. Cooper (Emily) of Haubstadt, IN, Andrew R. Cooper of Los Angeles, CA, Emily Green of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Green of Dayton, OH and Callie Green of Mobile, AL; 2 great grandchildren Ava Cooper and Benjamin Cooper of Haubstadt, IN and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial is at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26th, 2018, at Holy Cross Catholic Church will burial following in the Restlawn Cemetery in Brazil, IN. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Stodghill Funeral Home with a rosary service beginning at 1:30pm and again at 9:30 a.m. until service time at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
