Elmer L. Kiesel

   Elmer L. Kiesel, 91 of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at his home in Haubstadt, IN surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 30, 2017. He was born to the late Michael P. and Julia Marie (Naas) Kiesel on May 17, 1926 in Fort Branch, Indiana.

   He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, Haubstadt Knights of Columbus, Princeton Moose Lodge, Mt. Carmel Eagles Lodge, Dairyman’s Association, Rural Mail Carrier’s Association, and Dubois County Happy Campers. Along with being a Milk Delivery Man and Rural Mail Carrier, Elmer was a farmer his whole life.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Dolores Pauline (Knapp) Kiesel on June 27, 2000, brothers; Oscar, Cletus, Frank, and Henry Kiesel, sisters; Hilda Hasenour, Mary Mayer,  Sister Alice Kiesel, and Norma Keil and son in law Carl Hofmann.

He is survived by his 15 children; Larry (Diane) Kiesel of Owensville, IN, David Kiesel of Aransas Pass, TX, Kenneth (Donna) Kiesel of Fort Branch, IN, Diane (John) Hasenour of Fort Branch, IN, Jane A. Hofmann of Evansville, IN, Cynthia (Joe) Effinger of Wadesville, IN, Eugene (Donna) Kiesel of Fort Branch, IN, Frank (Sherry) Kiesel of Cynthiana, IN, Randy (Kay) Kiesel of Fort Branch, IN, Doris (Kent) Baehl of Fort Branch, IN, Gregory “Henry” (Lisa) Kiesel of Cynthiana, IN, Teresa (Rick) Granderson of Evansville, IN, Julia (Mark) Rexing of Evansville, IN, Tracy (Diane C.) Kiesel of Fort Branch, IN, Mark (LeeAnn) Kiesel of Haubstadt, IN, sister; Dorothy Knapp of Haubstadt, IN, 44 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and his special friend and companion Mildred Elpers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN at 11:00 AM with Fathers Tony Ernst and Ambrose Wanyonyi as co-celebrants. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home and again on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until service time. Rosary services will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Haubstadt, IN.
