Mary Ann L. (Schmitt) Nelson

Mary Ann (Schmitt) Nelson, 59, of Fort Branch, IN born on April 7, 1959 in Evansville, IN. to the late Anthony M. and Rita C. (Elpers) Schmitt. 

Mary Ann graduated in 1977 from Gibson Southern High School.  Starting her lifelong career as a server at Lakeview then she went on to work at Haubs Steak House.  Mary Ann met and worked with so many caring and loyal people that she loved. Mary Ann’s greatest loves were spending time with her kids and grandkids and going to different horse races with her husband.

She is preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Ronald and Maxine Nelson, sister-in-law Connie Beck and godfather Raymond Schmitt.

Survived by her husband of 38 years, Steven Ray Nelson of Fort Branch, IN., Daughter, Ashley (Matt) Lory of Zionsville, IN., Sons, William (Brittany) Nelson of Nobelsville, IN., Samuel (Julie) Wartell of Jacksonville, FL and 5 Grandsons Tanner, Austin, Mason Lory ,Luke Nelson, Harper Wartell and one granddaughter; Amelia Wartell.   She is also survived by her godmother, Lucy Schmitt and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mary Ann will be Tuesday April 9, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch and again at the church on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Tony Ernst and Father Ambrose Wanyonyi officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. 

The family would like to thank; St. Vincent Hospital, Father Tony Ernst and all the love, care and support of friends and family.
