Matthew Alan Fuhs, 37, of Evansville, IN, formerly of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at his home on May 4, 2019. He was born to Kevin and Rose (Bethe) Fuhs on October 13, 1981 in Evansville, IN.
He is preceded in death by his mother Rose Marie (Bethe) Fuhs in 1989, his maternal grandparents; Margaret and Herb Bethe, and his paternal grandparents; Eugene Fuhs and Kathleen Rudisill.
Matthew attended church at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN. He was a 2000 graduate of Gibson Southern High School. He went to Vincennes University following high school and became a Manager at Arby’s in Evansville, IN and also Cincinnati, OH. He also worked at Dewig Meats for 3 years and was most recently employed at Ed Creek Antiques in Evansville. He was an avid sports fan that enjoyed watching UK basketball and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.
Matthew is survived by his father and stepmother; Kevin and Helen (Schmits) Fuhs of Haubstadt, IN, sister; Andrea (Andy) Preske of Evansville, IN, brother; Kent Fuhs of Hazleton, IN, step-brother; Curtis (Stephanie) Knapp of Sheridan, IN, step-sisters; Christina (Brad) Cronin of Louisville, KY and Katie (Drew) Harvey of Evansville, IN, nieces and nephews; Lydia and Clara Preske, and Alison, Alyssa, Carter, Alyse, Collin, Caden, Colton, Chase, and Calan Knapp, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with Father Kenneth Betz, Father Tony Ernst, and Father Ambrose Wonyanyi as co-celebrants. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 3:30 p.m. at Madden Hall at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the House of Discernment in Evansville, IN in Matt’s honor.
