Anita Kensler, Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Columbia Health Care Center. Anita passed peacefully surrounded by her caregiver. She was born March 11, 1922 to Herbert and Hanamore (Johnson) Kensler in Knox County, Indiana. She graduated in 1940 from Benjamin Bosse High School in Evansville and went to work at Indiana Bell. She retired as an Insurance Representative for several independant insurance companies. Anita was an avid reader and enoyed music. She was a volunteer for the USO during World War II . Her parents preceded her in death as did her brother Paul Leland Kensler. She is survived by brothers Dr. William T. (Mary Margaret) Kensler of Sugar Grove, Ohio and Gary (Diana) Kensler of Tennyson, Indiana. many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Ft. Branch on Monday Oct. 19, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. with graveside services at St. Lucas Cemetery, the Rev. John Heumann officiating. The family wishes to express their thanks to the caregivers, Doctors, and business office of Columbia and Deaconess hospital for their excellent care of Anita while she was in their care.
