Barbara Jean Sensmeier, 83, of Owensville, IN, passed away at Transcendent Health Care in Owensville on July 25, 2025. She was born on May 2, 1942, in Evansville, IN, to the late Benjamin and Genevieve (DeMoss) Barth.

Barbara was a dedicated member of Owensville United Methodist Church and an alumna of Bosse High School. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, bingo, and playing cards and games. She was also a member of the Pink Ladies in Princeton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Alan Sensmeier, and her brother-in-law, Larry Bell.

She is survived by her children, Jay (Jill) Sensmeier of Owensville, IN, and Rebecca Carter of Charlotte, NC; siblings, Nancy Bell of Albuquerque, NM, and Ben (Mika) Barth of Evansville, IN; brother-in-law, Bob Meyerholtz of Evansville, IN; eight grandchildren: Amanda (Darrell) Wallace, Ryan (Amy) Carter, Bradley Carter, Jason Carter, Kristin (Brian) Wurtenberger, Rachel Sensmeier, Megan (Cory) Lamey, and Allie Sensmeier; as well as eight great-grandchildren with two more on the way.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Heart-to-Heart Hospice and the staff and caregivers at Transcendent Health Care for their compassionate care of Barbara.

Interment will take place at Blythe Chapel Cemetery in Owensville and will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice. Condolences may be expressed at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
