Bernie R. Burger, 84, of Haubstadt, IN passed away on October 16, 2015 at Transcendent Healthcare in Owensville, IN.

She was born in Haubstadt, IN to the Late Urban and Marie (Hillenbrand) Lamey. She is preceded in death by her sister Delores (Lolly) Vaughn.

Bernie was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her loving family.

Bernie is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Gene, daughter Lori (John) Jenkins of Haubstadt, IN, grandson Peyton Jenkins of Haubstadt, IN, sister Norma Regener of Haubstadt, IN, brother Robert (Karen) Lamey of Ontario, CA, sisters-in-law Janette Burger of Evansville, IN, and Vicky Burger of Fort Branch, IN, several neices and nephews, and a special friend Eula Hipp.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the faculty and staff at Transcendent Healthcare of Owensville, Heart to Heart Hospice, and their special friends and neighbors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN at 11:00 AM on Thursday October 22, 2015 officiated by Father Tony Ernst and Father Kenneth Betz. There will be visitation at 10:00 AM until service time at the church on Thursday. Visitation will be on Wednesday October 21, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with a Rosary service to be held at 3:30 PM. Donations are to be made to St. James Catholic Church and Gibson County Animal Services.
