Obituary

Betty Sue Hoefling, age 91, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her beloved family, on June 12, 2025. She was born to the late Ervin and Susie (Blanford) Conrad on August 25, 1933, in Waverly, KY.

Betty was a devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt. She dedicated 32 years of service as a teacher's aide at Haubstadt School before retiring in December 2006. In her leisure time, she enjoyed solving puzzles, watching game shows, reading, sitting on her front porch, and attending numerous games of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Donald Hoefling; her sister, Sharon (Richard) Otto; brothers-in-law, Michael Blessinger and Don Gardner; and sister-in-law, Connie Conrad.

Betty is survived by her children, Stan (Lois) Hoefling of Evansville, IN, and Kent (Lisa) Hoefling of Carthage, MO; her siblings, Irvin Ray Conrad of Evansville, IN, Barbara Gardner of Wadesville, IN, Carol Blessinger of Evansville, IN, and Barry (Marsha) Conrad of Wadesville, IN; her grandchildren, Carl (Whitney) Johnson, Bettie (Jeremy) Johnson, Anthony (Brittany) Hoefling, Amanda Mofield, Tyler (Tessa) Hoefling, and Derek Hoefling; as well as 16 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Family Life Center with Father Andrew Thomas officiating. Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, and again on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the Sts. Peter and Paul Family Life Center. Committal services will be conducted at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery before the burial. Donations in her honor can be made to the American Cancer Society.
