Camilla Elaine Johnson, age 74, passed away at Majestic Care of Newburgh on August 18, 2025. She was born January 18, 1951, in Evansville, IN, to the late Zelman and Mary Colleen (Garrett) Johnson.

Ms. Johnson grew up on a farm in the Wabash bottoms in the Upper Hills area, she was a member of Maumee General Baptist Church in Owensville. A graduate of Owensville High School, class of 1969, where she excelled in academics, band and FHA. She was a homecoming candidate for both football and basketball. She continued her education at Purdue University with the intention of pursuing a career in Home Economics education. Unfortunately, she was in a car accident on October 9, 1970, which caused her to be permanently disabled. Ms. Johnson led a fulfilling life, spending time with family, enjoying activities such as reading, playing cards and solving crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bernice (Dob) Farrar, and Gayle Johnson, as well as her nephew, Jeff Farrar.

She is survived by her niece and nephews: Jennifer (Dan) Colbert of Haubstadt, Tim (Leigh Anne) Farrar of Wadesville, Brian Johnson of Lafayette, and her lifelong best friend, Kathy Douglas of Owensville.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Maumee Cemetery in Owensville, with Pastor Don Mobley officiating.
