Janelle Young

Carol Janelle Young, 68, of Owensville, IN, formerly of Fort Branch, passed away on October 6, 2026, at Heart-to-Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN. She was born on July 10, 1958, in Evansville to the late Fred and Opal (Grimm) Keeker.

Janelle graduated from Gibson Southern High School in 1976. As a child, she attended St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Fort Branch. She worked at several local restaurants, including Sandy’s Pizza and Subway in Fort Branch and Princeton. She enjoyed motocross racing, fishing, camping, and drag racing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Keeker and Opal Keeker-Besing-Sollman, and her loving fiancé, Kenneth Douglas.

Janelle is survived by her children, Jerome (Jennifer) Young and Joey (Crystal) Miller, both of Owensville, IN; siblings, Marilyn (Ross) Brittingham of Oatsville, IN, Rick (Sharon) Keeker of Francisco, IN, and Marsha (Lee) Binhack of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, Zander Young, Ashlin Young, and Damian (Chelsea) Smith; great-grandchildren, Denver Smith and Thomas Bainbridge; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, with Pastor Bart Newton officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Lynnville, IN.
