Charles W. Allen, 76, of Fort Branch, IN passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 at the Waters in Princeton, IN. He was born on Sept. 21, 1933 in Gibson County to the late George and Agnes M. (Bruce) Allen. Charles was retired from Old Ben Coal Mine # 1. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Evansville Iron Street Rod Club since 1974, and the Fort Branch Lions Club. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Fougnies) Allen in 2009, and his sister Vivian Hineman. Charles is survived by his daughter Jennifer Fournier of Haubstadt, IN, a brother, Jerauld Allen of Fort Branch, IN, a sister Connie Hornbach of Granger, IN, and 2 grandchildren. Services for Charles will be on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, Rev. Tammy Scheller will officiate, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN. A military service will be conducted at the graveside by the VFW Post #2714. Visitation will be on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 from 4PM until 8PM at the funeral Home and again from 12 noon until service time on Friday.
