Mrs. Richie began her journey back to Christ at her birth on November 11, 1919 in Fort Branch IN and completed that journey on June 16, 2009 at the Charlier Hospice in Evansville, Indiana after a noble life as a homemaker, a baker, a teacher, an activities director and, through all, a devoted and self-sacrificing wife and mother. Surviving are four sons, Kenneth Richie, Jr. (Sarah) of Fort Branch IN, Charles Alan Richie (Jeanette) of Evansville IN, Berthal Dale Richie (Bonnie) of Glasgow KY, and Robert Lane Richie also of Glasgow KY. Two surviving daughters are Edna Kay Austill (Charles) of Oakland City IN and Linda Katherine Hodges (Bruce) of Mount Airy NC. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Predeceasing her are her husband, Kenneth Melvin Richie and two sons, Larry Carlos Richie and Elmer Louis Richie. From her children to their mother, "Well done, Mom. Thank you so much. We shall always love you as you taught us so well to love." Services for Clara will be on Thursday, June 18th, 2009 at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery also in Fort Branch. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. Until 8:00 P.M. At the funeral home.
