Obituary

Clarence "Jay" Martin, 56, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN, on July 16, 2024. He was born to Clarence James and Sarah Claudette (Duncan) Martin on January 2, 1968, in Princeton, IN.

Jay was raised catholic and attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch. He went to Gibson Southern High School. He was a mechanic by trade but enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Jarred Wayne Martin.

Jay is survived by his parents, Clarence and Claudette Martin of Fort Branch, IN; sisters, Amber (Jason) Pollock of Princeton and Ollisha Martin of Fort Branch; several nieces and nephews; 2 great nephews, and a great niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch with Father Gary Kaiser as celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until mass time at the church. A committal service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Branch prior to burial. Donations in his honor can be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church. Expressions of sympathy can be made at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
