David Roy Armstrong

David Roy Armstrong, 92, of Princeton, passed away on November 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Fort Branch on May 21, 1934, David was the son of the late Roy and Thelma (Kell) Armstrong.

David served in the United States Army from January 1957 to October 1958 and was a deacon at Owensville General Baptist Church for more than 60 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, farming, traveling, deer hunting, coin collecting, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed gathering and processing walnuts & pecans. An IU and Yankees fan, he also participated in the Honor Flight. Above all, he cherished time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Kathryn Armstrong; and his sister, Joyce Cooksey.

David is survived by his children, Mark (Kim) Armstrong of Princeton, Anita (Jon) Gibson of Princeton, Judy (Jim) Adams of Princeton, Donna (Kirk) Stierwalt of Speedway, IN, and Mike Armstrong of Salvisa, KY; his grandchildren, Zach (Haleigh) Adams, Josh (Kristen) Adams, Alex (Brittney) Gibson, Shawn (Paige) Gibson, Nick Gibson, Hunter (Mattie) Armstrong, Logan Armstrong, Will Armstrong, Alexis (Preston) Wargel, Amanda (Kevin) Orr, and Ashlee (Kirk) Hayden; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held that day from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial will follow at Clark Cemetery.
