David Allen Douglas, 85, of Fort Branch passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on December 13, 2024.

David was born on August 30, 1939, in Fort Branch to the late William and Artemesa (Woods) Douglas.

David married the love of his life Karen Muncie on July 26, 1994. He was a former member of the Indiana National Guard and drove a fuel truck for Gibson County Co-op for 27 years. In his free time, he always kept himself busy, but truly enjoyed gardening and camping.

David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Douglas; children, Jane Miller of Evansville, Judi (Andrew) Hunter of Ocala, FL, Michelle Davidson of Fort Branch, and Malea (Mark) Wolfe of Evansville; grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Erin, Jamie, Elaina, Mercedes, Taylor and Jesse; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judith Pritchett of Fort Branch; and 2 brothers, Rod (Suzette) Douglas of Fort Branch and Gerald (Pat) Douglas of Fort Branch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Artemesa Douglas; siblings, Frankie, Jimmy, Mary Lou, and Jo Ann Douglas, and his beloved dog, Louie.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home with Pastor Darin Nossett officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial and committal services will be held at Blythe Chapel Cemetery in Owensville, IN.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care of David in his final days.
