Obituary

Donald W. Deer, 81, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. He was born to the late Elmer and Agnes L. (Fulkerson) Deer on May 14, 1935 in Evansville, IN

Don was a Glazer for 37 years having worked at Central Glass in Evansville.  He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, and the Haubstadt Knights of St. John.  He was a member of the Glazers Union Local # 1165.

Besides his parents, Don is also preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Deer.

Don is survived by his Wife, Martha (Baehl) Deer of Haubstadt, IN, 6 children, Bruce (Kathy) Deer of Indianapolis, IN, Daniel (Martha) Deer of Haubstadt, IN, Richard (Stacy) Deer of Evansville, IN, Julie (Scott) Stodghill of Fort Branch, IN, Bradley (Kristen) Deer of Overland Park, KS, and Brian (Melissa) Deer of Indianapolis, IN, a sister, Carol Swain of Evansville, IN.  He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 Step grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, Fathers Tony Ernst and Biju Thomas will be co-celebrants.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 10:00 AM until service time at the church on Thursday.
