August 20, 1930 – September 17, 2025
Doris Jean (Golden) Angermeier passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on September 17, 2025. Born on August 20, 1930, in Whiting, Indiana, she spent the majority of her life in southern Indiana.
Jean took pride in her role as a homemaker and was an active member of the Home Economics Club. She valued time spent with loved ones, whether it was playing cards, sewing, traveling, or attending family reunions at Brown County State Park.
She is survived by her four children: Jeanne Angermeier, Joyce (Alan) Welch, Donald (Robin) Angermeier, and Diane/Annie (Terry) Wallace; ten grandchildren: Katie, Alex, Tyler, Colleen, Neil, Shelley, Brandon, Tessa, Trent, and Billy; seventeen great-grandchildren and two expected soon. She is also survived by her cousin, who was like a sister, JoAnn Hunter, sisters-in-law Nancy Angermeier and Martina Angermeier, cousin and neighbor Carolyn (Norman) Ray, and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Bill Angermeier, and her sister, Linda Vaught. The family extends special appreciation to Franciscan Hospice and neighbor Beverly Marshall for their care and support.
Visitation will take place at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN, on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life.
Memorial donations may be directed to the American Lung Association or towards the purchase of a commemorative bench at Brown County State Park.
