Edward W. Reinhart peacefully surrendered his life unto the waiting and loving arms of Jesus of Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Owensville Manor Nursing Home. His loving spouse of 56 years, Mary Louise (Fuhs), and members of the family were at his side when he entered into rest. Nicknamed "Mr. Ed" by friends and co-workers, he shared friendly pleasent conversations with the local farmers while working at Emges. Emges Packing Co. employed him in the scale shed area for 44 Years. In addition, he owned and operated a small family farm. Ed was a contributing member of the Holy Name Society, Fort Branch Optimist, Life Member of VFW Post 2714, Knights of St. John and AARP. The WWII Vet served his duty faithfully in Italy ,France and Rome from 1940 to 1944. The smiling, caring, and loving father had favorite hobbies of gardening, bowling, horseshoes and clabber. On October 6, 1918, he was born in Gibson County to the late Jacob and Veronica (Schmitt) Reinhart. Other deceased members of the family include a sister Geneva Anslinger and Brothers Adrian and Sylvester. Ed was the dear father of three sons and their wives: Ed and Pat of Fort Branch: Mike and Jana of Lafayette; Sam of Princeton; and three daughters and their husbands; Elaine and Bill Couch of Owensville; Susie and Charlie Powers of Princeton and Gloria of Fort Branch and friend Derek Barton. He is further survived by one sister Esther Thompson of Fort Branch and 13 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Stodghill Funeral Home located at Hwy 168 West in Fort Branch from 2:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 2nd. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Ed's celebration of Life Ceremony will be at Holy Cross Church, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 3rd 2003. Final viewing will be at Stodghill's from 9:30 to time of service. Military services will be conducted by VFW Post #2714 at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Cross School, South Gibson VFW Post 2714, or Fort Branch Fire and Rescue are appreciated.
