Obituary

Edwin A. Lindauer, 74, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born to the late Leonard F. and Rosa Sermersheim on Dec. 2, 1935 in St. Henry, IN. Edwin was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, and the Knights of Columbus in Haubstadt, IN. He had worked at Emge Meat Packing in Fort Branch for 34 and a half years and later for the Town of Fort Branch until he retired in 2008. Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Joseph and Linus Lindauer and Father Prosper Lindauer OSB. He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Wonder) Lindauer, and 3 daughters, Lisa Allen of Boonville, IN, Kelly Fleming of Evansville, IN, and Rhonda Venson of Princeton, IN, 1 sister, Rita Neihaus of Ferdinand, IN, 3 brothers, Norbert Lindauer of St. Henry, IN, Wilfred Lindauer of St. Henry, IN, and Martin Lindauer of Fort Branch, IN. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, Father Bernard Etienne will be the celebrant, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday June 1, 2010 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, in and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church on Wednesday. A Rosary will be recited by the church parish at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The family request that any donations be made to the St. Judes Childrens hospital.
