Ernestine "Jean" Elaine Dishon, age 87, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away on October 15th, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1938, in Kipton, Ohio, to the late Elmer and Neva (Hand) Sabin.

Ms. Dishon was devoted to her faith and was raised in the Methodist tradition, believing firmly in Jesus Christ as her savior. She was employed at Hansens Corporation in Princeton for 33 years and later at Buehlor's Buy Low grocery store for 11 years. Ernestine was known for her vibrant personality and deep affection for her family, always remembering birthdays and attending her grandchildren's activities whenever possible. She found enjoyment in spending time on her porch with her beloved dogs, Teddy, Buddy, and Lady. Ernestine welcomed everyone without judgment, enjoyed visiting casinos, and took particular delight in finding good deals while shopping for clothes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Pam Sabin; and her sisters, Jaqueline Boos and Juanita Eggleston.

She is survived by her partner of 25 years; James Hovda of Princeton, Indiana; her children: Suzanne (Dan) Schleeter of Two Harbors, Minnesota; Patricia (Randy) Green of Covington, Indiana; William (Laura) Straw of Piggott, Arkansas; and Robert (Claudia) Straw of Princeton, Indiana. Additional survivors include her sister, Marjorie Sabin; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several great-great and great-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, Indiana, with Pastor Robert Straw officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home. Burial and committal services will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton, Indiana.
