Eugene J. Simon Jr., 55, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017. He was born to the late Eugene J. Sr. and Leona A. (Weber) Simon on Oct. 26, 1961 in Evansville, IN.

Eugene was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN.  He loved to go 4 wheeling and the outdoors.  He was also an avid NASCAR  racing fan.

Eugene is survived by 1 sister, Margaret Eugenia Simon of Haubstadt, IN, 3 cousins, Janet (Steve) Seibert, Mary (Doug) Like, and Dennis Simon all of Haubstadt, IN, and 1 aunt, Dottie (Kenny) Benton of Posey County, IN.  He is also survived by several more cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Saturday, Mar. 4. 2017 at 11:00 am at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN., Father Tony Ernst will be the celebrant.  Burial will be at the church cemetery.  Visitation will be on Saturday, Mar. 4, 2017 from 9:00 am until service time at the church.  The family request that donations be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
