Frank F. (Slick) Greubel, 87, passed away at his residence in Warrenton, IN on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. He was born to the late Leonard and Dorothy Greubel on October 16, 1927 in Haubstadt, IN.

For those who knew Frank well, you know how special he was to those in his life.  There were many things that Frank will be remembered by, including his love for Stroh's Beer, old tractors, Texas Hold 'Em at Casino Aztar, cutting firewood and cracking pecans.  The one thing that will continue to live on is his love for his family and friends, that is what will never be forgotten. A special thank you to all of the wonderful ladies who helped to care for him: Debbie, Kathy, Shelley, Brooke, Sam, Hillary and neighbor, Nurse Jan.

Frank was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus, the Haubstadt Knights of St. John, the Fort Branch VFW Post #2714, the Haubstadt American Legion Post #194, and the Haubstadt Chamber of Commerce.  Frank was a farmer and Co-owner of  Gibson County Distributing.  He was a big Indianapolis Colts Football and IU Basketball Fan.  Frank graduated from Haubstadt High School in Haubstadt, in 1946.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Greubel.

Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ethelene Greubel, and 3 children, Jerry "Slick" (Nancy) Greubel, David (Maureen) Greubel, Kevin (Jeannie) Greubel, and Dana (Tony) Hallam, Grandchildren, Danielle (Bob) Schleter, Sean Greubel, Kelsey Martin, Candace (Andrew) Stull, Trevor Martin, and Megan Hallam.  He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Paige and Isabella Schleter, 2 brothers, Urban Greubel,and Adolph (Jane) Greubel, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at 11:30 AM at the St. James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, Father Kenneth Betz will be the celebrant.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 10:00 AM until service time at the church on Saturday.
