Genevieve H. Pirkle, 86, of Fort Branch,IN., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 11th, 2009 at Gibson General Skilled care unit in Princeton, IN. She was born to the late John Henry and Emma (Kruse) Meyer on Aug. 14, 1923 in Gibson Co. IN. and resided here her entire life. Genevieve graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1941 and was a graduate of the Lockyear Business College in Evansville, IN. She had worked at Emge Meat Packing Co.in Fort Branch, and was part owner of the Pirkle Grocery Store, she retired from the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Fort Branch after 16 years of service. She also was Union Township Trustee for a couple of years. She was a member of the St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Fort Branch Besides her parents Genevieve is also preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters, Elsie Wilderman, Ruth English, Gertrude Meyer, George Meyer, Raymond Meyer, Lester Meyer, and John Meyer. Genevieve is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Stephen Pirkle of Newburgh, IN., Trudy (Gerald) Bledsoe of Fort Branch, IN., and Lisa (Tom) Parker of Evansville, IN. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Adam Bledsoe, Mina Pirkle, Toby Pirkle, Nigel Parker, and Sarah Parker. Services for Genevieve will be on Monday, Nov.16th, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Fort Branch, IN., Reverend John Heumann will officiate, burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 15th, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the church on Monday. the family request that donations be made to the St. Lucas United Church of Christ in Fort Branch.
