George A Dunkel, 93, of Fort Branch IN passed away on Nov. 25, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN. George was born on Oct. 24, 1925 to the late Pete and Rose (Anslinger) Dunkel in Haubstadt IN.   Besides his parents George is preceded in death by his son, Peter Dunkel and sister's Dorothy Blair, Bonnie Perkins and a brother William Dunkel.

George was retired from the CSX Railroad, U.S. Navy veteran and Participated in his Honor Flight on his 90th Birthday, a member of the VFW Post #2714 and the Haubstadt K of C.  He was also a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN.  George was a great father, grandfather and He loved everyone he met.

George is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita (Wirth) Dunkel of Fort Branch, IN, his Son, David Dunkel of Haubstadt, IN, daughters Diane (Gary) Claymeier of Cape Girardeau, MO, Joyce (Gary) Trible of Evansville, IN and Amy (Troy) Miley of Oakland City, IN and Daughter in Law, Lisa Dunkel of Fort Branch, IN., a sister Carol Harrington of Indianapolis, IN, and 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wed. Nov. 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN with burial in the church cemetery where there will be military honors.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 3:30 pm at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN and again at the Church from 10:00 AM till service time.

Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and the VFW Post # 2714.
