Gerald A. Schleter, 80, of Francisco, IN, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 12, 2011. He was born to Wilfred and Dona (Perry) Schleter on Oct. 27, 1930 in Princeton, IN. Gerald was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance for 43 years. He enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, and fishing. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. Besides his parents Gerald is preceded in death by his brother Lewis Schleter. Gerald is survived by his wife Nita (Davidson) Schleter, 4 children, David A. Schleter of Fort Branch, IN, Dr. Harvey A. Schleter of Somerset, KY, Robert A. Schleter of Francisco, IN, and Frederick A. Schleter of Fort Branch, IN. He is also survived by a brother, Henry Schleter of Fort Branch, IN, and 11 grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday May 16, 2011 at at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Snake Run, IN, Father Tony Ernst and Deacon Steve Hall will officiate. The family request that in lieu of flowers that all donations be made to the St. Bernard Catholic Church.
