Obituary

Harlen (Bud) E. Hacker,86, of Fort Branch passed away on July 17, 2010 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN. Harlan was born December 6, 1923 to the late George and Josephine Hacker. Bud is a retired rural carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. He was an army veteran of World War II serving in the Philippines and was a lifelong member of the V. F. W. Post #2714.He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he had served in the past as an elder. He was preceded in death by son Roger D. Hacker in 2007, sisters Viola Eisenhut, Leona Oexman, Marie Oexman; brothers Edwin , Ray, and Milford Hacker. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth (Dixon) Hacker of Fort Branch; daughter Brenda and husband George Ankenbrand of Fort Branch IN; son David and wife Elsie Hacker of Evansville IN; grandchildren John, Brian, Paul, Jennifer Ankenbrand, Jessica and husband Dan Anderson, great-granddaughter, Emily Anderson; step grandchildren Brandy and husband Keith Acton, Adrienne and husband Michael Burdick; step grandchildren Kelvyn and Kaleigh Acton, Cameron and Peyton Burdick; stepsons Ronald Harvey, Dennis Harvey; sister Helena Morrison of Evansville, and brother Robert Hacker of Minniapolis MN. Visitation for Harlen will be Monday July 19, 2010 from 3 pm to 7 pm and from 9 am to 9:40 am on Tuesday at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch IN. Services will be Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 10 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville with Reverend Kirk Horstmeyer officiating. Burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Donations maybe made to Southern Care Hospice or Immanuel Lutheran Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made online at www.stodghillfuneralhome.com
