Harold N. Wolf of Fort Branch, IN passed away on November 25, 2024 at the Heritage Woods of Newburgh surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 8, 1934 in Haubstadt to the late Clarence and Veronica (Welte) Wolf.
Harold served in the US Navy at the time of the Korean War, serving on the island of Okinawa. He married Helen Kissel on May 13, 1961 at St. James Catholic Church. They were active members of Holy Cross Catholic Church where they received the Brute Award in 2004. He was a member of the Haubstadt Knights of St. John, A 50+-year member of the Haubstadt American Legion Post 194, a Life member of the Fort Branch VFW Post 2714, and attended the Honor Flight EVV8 on May 5, 2018. He also enjoyed volunteering at the United Caring Shelters. He and his wife were also founding members of The Lord's Pantry in Fort Branch. He was employed at Emge Packing Company in Fort Branch for 43 years, mainly as its Credit Manager. He was elected Clerk-Treasurer of Fort Branch and served for 4 years. Later, he was elected to the Fort Branch Town Council.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen (Kissel) Wolf on March 9, 2024; his siblings, Richard "Dick" Wolf, Federick "Fritz" Wolf, Charlene Yeager, and Bernice Mayer.
Survivors include, his children, Brian (Tracy) Wolf of Haubstadt, Gregory Wolf of Fort Branch, Daniel Wolf of Haubstadt, Alan (Mari) Wolf of Fort Branch and Karen (Doug) Adler of Haubstadt; grandchildren, Haley and Austin Wolf, Michael Adler, Kristen (Joel) Kuykendoll, Allison Adler, Megan Adler, Katelyn Adler, and Andrew Adler; and 1 great-grandchild, Elias Daniel.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Heritage Woods of Newburgh for their loving care and compassion for both Harold and Helen during their time there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Tony Ernst as celebrant. Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be performed by the Knights of St. John at 9:30 a.m. followed by a military walk through. Military honors will be performed by the Veterans of Gibson County at Holy Cross Cemetery.
