Helen R. Harpenau, 70 of Fort Branch, passed away on Monday April 26, 2004 at her residence. She was born on March 11 1934 in Spencer Counrty to the late Edward and Frances (Waninger) Schaefer and resided in Fort Branch for most of her life. Helen is a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch. She is preceded in death besides her parents by 1 brother, Raymond Schaefer on January of 1982. She is survived by her husband Anthony Harpenau, 2 sons and 2 daughters, Marvin Harpenau of Princeton, IN, Melvin Harpenau of Princeton, IN, Betty Fields of Jaskson TN, and Brenda Kidd of Fort Branch, IN. She is also survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Clarence Schaefer of Fort Branch, IN, Cletus Schaefer of Fulda, IN, Mildred Lindauer of Fort Branch, IN, and Dorothy Ann Lindauer of St. Henry, IN. Also surviving ar 10 Grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, Father Tony Ernst will be the celebrant, burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday, April 28 2004, from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch. A Rosary will be recited by the church parish at 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
