Obituary

Henry L. Kiesel, 92, of Fort Branch, Indiana passed away at Charlier Hospice Care in Evansville, Indiana on October 22, 2014. He was born to the late Mike and Julia (Naas) Kiesel. He was preceded in death by daughter Stephanie Eaton, son Gregory Kiesel, Grandson Jason Hall and beloved wife Barbara Kiesel.

Henry was a P.O.W. in Germany for 15 months during World War II where he served in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Fort Branch VFW post 2714, Sagamore of Wabash, Kentucky Colonel, formerly attended Holy Cross Catholic Church, and was the Grand Marshall of the Fort Branch Fall Festival parade in 2011. He loved to collect antique clocks which he also sold and repaired, go deer hunting, go fishing, and play chess.

He is survived by his children LaDonna (Dennis) Hopster , Sherry (Allen) Campbell, Jim Kiesel , Debra (Jeff) Hall, Ilesa Ward all of Fort Branch, Indiana, Janet Kiesel of Princeton, Indiana, sister Dorothy Knapp and brother Elmer Kiesel both of Haubstadt, Indiana, and sister Alice Kiesel of Tell City, Indiana.

Services for Henry will be on Sunday October 26, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, Indiana with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Branch, Indiana. Father Tony Ernst and Father Sudhakar Bhastati will be co-celebrants. Visitation for Henry will be prior to services on Sunday October 26, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Donations should be made to Charlier VNA Hospice or to the Military Museum in Vincennes, Indiana.
