Iva Nadene (Hill) Rains, 88, of Princeton passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2024 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN.

Iva was born to the late James and Dora (Harris) Hill on April 19, 1936 in Brummett, KY.

On February 8, 1958, Iva married the love of her life Marcus Rains in Jellico, TN. Iva had many roles over her lifetime but the one she enjoyed most was being a nursery school teacher at Pat Taylor's Nursery School for over 20 years. She was also a Sunday school teacher for several years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Princeton. She thoroughly enjoyed quilting, crocheting, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and spending time with the people that she taught at Pat Taylor's. She was an excellent seamstress and made both of her daughter's wedding dresses.

Iva is preceded in death by her siblings, Bessie Hill, Edna Hill, Thelma Wright, L.O. Hill, Arnold Hill, and Steely Hill.

Iva is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Marcus Rains; 4 children, Kenneth (LaDonna) Rains of Princeton, Z (Patrick) Rains-Tuley of Evansville, Sandra (Veryl) Niederhaus of Darmstadt, and Daniel (Brandy) Rains of Knoxville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Katelyn (Eric) Mason, David Marcus Charles Rains, Amber (Steve) Alsobrooks, Emma (Jonah) Carpenter, Erin (Kyle) Peters, and Megan (Dylan) Rains-Mathew; and brother, Earl Foster Hill of Lexington, KY.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Minister Jon O'Keefe officiating. Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.
