James Morgan McGrew, 77, of Owensville, IN, went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on August 2, 2024. He was born to the late Earl and Margaret (Franks) McGrew on August 14, 1946, in Compton, CA.

Jim was born and raised in California and in 1978 he moved his family from Lakewood, CA to Fort Branch, IN. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for PPG for 31 years before retiring in 2010, and was a volunteer fireman for the Fort Branch Fire Department for several years.  He attended Dayspring Church in Owensville and loved spending time with his church family. He was a man of strong faith and he looked forward to beginning each day spending time with the Lord in his daily devotionals. In his free time, he enjoyed attending car shows and displaying his VW Bug and Ford Model A. He was an animal lover and enjoyed tending to his many cats over the years.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Earl "Sonny" McGrew, Jr. and Peggy Burks.

Jim is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jan (Drake) McGrew of Owensville; children, Shawn (Angela) McGrew of Haubstadt, Scott (Julie) McGrew of Patoka, Lisa (Jay) Bradshaw of Fort Branch, and Shannon (Tom) Mooney of Evansville; the mother of his children, Pat McGrew of Fort Branch; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
