James Edward Weiss, 60 of Haubstadt, IN went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, November 11th, 2021 at his home. He was surrounded by his three loving daughters. James was born to the late Wilbert and Kathleen (Kaiser) Weiss and raised in Fort Branch, IN.

James, along with his 7 brothers and sisters, grew up next to their dad's car lot, Willie's Auto Sales. James was a proud graduate of Gibson Southern High School in 1979. In his spare time, James truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was also elated to see his family, particularly at reunions. James was a strong man with a hard work ethic who worked for various trucking companies where he was referred to as 'Bear'. Before he retired from Transfreight/Penske, James received a Diamond Class Award for 20 years of safe driving.

James was a lifetime member of the Holy Cross Parish and valued his Catholic faith above all else.

Aside from his parents, James is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Leon Spindler and George Schnapf. Continuing his legacy will be his 3 daughters: Jessica (Brian) Conner of Fort Branch, Julia (Cory) Isaacs of Darmstadt, Jade (Jeremy) Steckler of Haubstadt; grandchildren Matthew (12), Brynleigh (8), Jaxon (5), Calvin (4), Jenna (3), Kaisleigh (2), and Jayce (1). James is also proudly survived by 7 siblings: Larry (Rose) Weiss, Carolyn Spindler, Linda (Mike) Rodenberg, Mary (John) Muncy, Marcia (Tim) Martin, Alan (Elaine) Weiss, and Glenn Weiss.

The family wishes to extend a special gratitude to everyone who has helped James and his family over the past few years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN with Father Luke Hassler as celebrant. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home and again on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:45 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Monday, November 15, 2021. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN following mass. Lastly, the family wishes that any contributions be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
