James M. Wilkerson, 79, of Princeton, IN passed away on Monday, May 2nd, 2005 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN. He was born on March 4th, 1926 to the late Luther and Pearl Wilkerson in Gibson County, IN. and resided here his entire life. James was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Occupied Japan, and was a member of the Mt. Carmel American Legion Post # 423, the Princeton, VFW post 1147, the Eagles Area 361 and the D.A.V. Chapter 18. James loved to fish. Besides his parents James is preceded in death by 1 sister Frieda Cox and 1 brother Arvil Wilkerson. He is survived by 7 children and their spouses, Tom and Patricia Wilkerson of Bruceville, IN Richard Wilkerson of Dale, IN, Leslie and Rosie Wilkerson of Grandy, N.C., Ivan Wilkerson of Princeton, IN, Gerald and Cari Wilkerson of Princeton, IN, Cheryl and Ray Unfried of Allendale, IL, and Bruce Wilkerson of Princeton, IN. He also is survived by 2 sisters, Vonna Jean Dawson of Princeton, IN and Mrytle Robb of Fort Branch, IN. James also is survived by 18 Grandchildren, 2 Step-Grandchildren, and 18 Great Grandchildren. There will be no visitation , the body will be cremated.. A private family memorial service will be held on May 15th, 2005 at a location to be determined later. Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN is in charge of all arrangements. The family request that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in James Wilkersons name to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans.
