Obituary

Janet Lou Georges, 82, of Haubstadt, passed away September 29, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Janet was born November 18,1941 to Doris and Edna (Overton) Curl. She was the 6th of their 10 children. After her mother died at an early age, she took pride in helping to raise her younger brothers and sisters.

Janet was married to her first husband, Wayne Conrey for 13 years. After his passing, several years later, she remarried Larry Floyd Georges. The two of them shared 36 wonderful years together until his passing in 2020. She was a former member of Maumee General Baptist Church in Owensville and a former Commander of the Gibson County Navy Mothers.

Besides her parents and two husbands, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Conrey; step-son, Lance Georges; sisters, Barb(Pat) Patterson, Sue (Don) McCarthy, Joyce  (Cleo) Shoultz, Judy (Bill) Mason; brother, Terry Curl; and brother-in-law, Shelby Stevens.

She is survived by her sons, Brett Conrey (Kathy) of Haubstadt and Dwayne Conrey of Haubstadt; step-sons, Sean Georges (Tarrah) of Newburgh, Art Georges (Maribeth) of Bartonville, IL; step-daughters, Jennifer Cycholl (Trenton) of Boca Raton, FL, and Josie Georges of Effingham, IL; 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Janet is also survived by her sisters, Jean King, Nona (Chip) Shrode, Penny Stevens; brother, Tony Curl; and sister in law, Marsha Curl.

A special thank you to Deaconess Hospice VNA, especially Meagan who Janet thoroughly enjoyed visiting with.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Pastor Anisa Evans officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery in Snake Run. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Deaconess Hospice. Expressions of sympathy can be at stodghillfuneralhome.com.
