Jimmie Lee Payne, 65, of Dale, IN, passed away at his home on January 7, 2017. He was born to the late Roy and Nora (Schnelle) Payne on November 26, 1951 in Evansville, IN.

He was Baptist in faith and had accepted God as his Savior. He was proud to call himself a coal miner and was a member of the UMCA local #1907. He was also a member of the Yellow Bank Trace Community Association. To know him was to love him. Jimmie never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Clarence Payne.

He is survived by his loving wife Connie (Englert) Payne of Dale, IN, children Jennifer (Brad) Wittmer of Elberfeld, IN and Richard (Crystal Halbig) Payne of Princeton, IN, brother Roy (Jackie) Payne of Lamarque, TX, sisters Linda (Gary) Stevens, Nancy Burris, Mary Nelson, and Sue Kixmiller all of Evansville, IN, grandchildren Beau and Wesley Wittmer and Kiersten and Brennen Payne.

Services will be on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN with Pastor Karen Sureck officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stodghill Funeral Home. Jimmie will be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help the family for funeral expenses.
