Riddle

John William Riddle, 97, of Fort Branch, IN passed away at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN on September 24, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late William and Edith (Calvert) Riddle on November 5, 1926 in Princeton, IN.
He graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1944 but was not present for the graduation ceremony due to already joining the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a World War II veteran. He attended Evansville College, Purdue University, and continued to study his entire life taking many online classes. He was an Engineer and retired from Allison Engine Company, a division of General Motors that built jet engines. Through his employment he traveled the world and lived in many countries. After retirement, he lived in San Antonio, TX and started a company called Jet-Aero, Inc. He worked there until he was in his late eighties. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of Scottish Rite and Shrine. He was also a life member of the Fort Branch VFW Post 2714.
John married Dorris Louise Dikeman on September 6, 1953.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Dorris (Dikeman) Riddle; 3 sisters, Maxine Riddle, Goldie Rhinefort, and Lois Jackson; and 1 brother Robert Riddle.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Ruth (Stanley) Dearing of Fort Branch, IN and Martha Jean Wheaton of Haubstadt, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Talala, OK.
