John W. Stone, 82 of Owensville, IN, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2019 at Transcendent Care of Owensville.  He was born to the late Lawrence and Alma (Boeglin) Stone on May 23, 1937 in Gibson County, IN.

John was of the Catholic faith and was a lifetime member of the N.R.A.  He farmed most of his life before working for the Gibson County Highway Dept.

Besides his parents John is also preceded in death his wife Irma (Weiss) Stone in March of 2017.

John is survived by 3 children, James (Annette) Stone of Haubstadt, IN, Leeann Gunderman of Owensville, IN, and Sherry (Frank) Kiesel of Haubstadt, IN, 3 brothers, Larry (JoAnn) Stone and Tom (Rita ) Stone both of Fort Branch, IN, and Mark (Brenda) Stone of Owensville, IN.  John also is survived by his Scotty dogs, Shannon and Molly.

Services for John will be on Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at the Stodghill Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Branch, IN.  Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Monday. The family request that in Lieu of flowers donations be made to the Gibson County Animal Services.
