Julie Anne Knapp

Julie Anne Knapp, 71, of Fort Branch, Indiana, passed away on June 10, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. She was born on July 10, 1954, in Clinton, Indiana, to the late William and Thelma (Harmon) Deener.

Julie graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1972 and later earned a degree from Lockyear’s Business College. She worked for Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville for 17 years before retiring in 2009. On October 13, 1979, she married the love of her life, Larry Knapp, and together they raised four children. Above all else, Julie cherished her family, and her grandchildren were truly the light of her life.

In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Deener, Dennis Deener, and Jim Deener; two infant siblings; and her brother-in-law, Richard Scott.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of nearly 47 years, Larry Knapp of Fort Branch; her children, Amy (Steve) Houchins of Fort Branch, Anthony (Brianne Bensinger) Knapp of Fort Branch, Allen Knapp of Marshall, Illinois, and Aaron (Michelle) Knapp of Columbus, Indiana; her siblings, Rita (Jerry) Jameson of Lafayette, Indiana, Brenda Deener of Greenville, South Carolina, Michael Deener of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Robin Scott of Fort Branch, Charla (Jason) Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Keith Deener of Newburgh, Indiana; her grandchildren, Anjellica, Dalton, Gavin, Taryn, Logan, Emerson, Noah, Henry, and Franklin; and her great-grandchildren, Westin and Cason.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Pastor Tammy Scheller officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Following the service, Julie will be cremated and returned home to her family, in accordance with her wishes.
