Kenneth P. Schmits, 77, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.  He was born on July 14, 1942 in Princeton, IN to the late Jesse and Florence (Pugh) Schmits.    Kenneth was retired from Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville, IN after 39 years of service.  He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN, the Local 808, the Elberfeld Lions Club, and the Princeton Gun Club.  He graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1960.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Carole A. (Judkins) Schmits of Fort Branch, IN, 2 daughters, Kathi (Douglas) Sparks of Walton, KY, and Kimberly Schmits of Haubstadt, IN, 2 brothers, Robert (Sharon) Schmits of Francisco, IN, Charles (Wanda) Schmits of Fort Branch, IN.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, IN Fort Branch, IN, Father Christopher Droste will be the celebrant.  Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, IN.  Donations can be made to The Lions Club of Elberfeld, IN and It Takes a Village Canine Rescue.
