Larry P. Sweppy, 73, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. He was born to the late Ermal "Jewett" and Mary Ann (Elderbrook) Overton on September 17, 1949, in Princeton, IN.

Larry was raised catholic in faith and attended Holy Cross School and Holy Cross Catholic Church in his youth. He worked at Whirlpool as a Supervisor for 42 years and worked for Martin's Sunoco on the weekends for many years. He coached softball for his daughter's teams for several years. His life revolved around his grandchildren and attending their many sporting events.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Sharon (Wilhite) Sweppy and his son, Josh Sweppy.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Tammra (Vaughn) Golday of Fort Branch; grandchildren, Derek (Jennifer) Smitha of Fort Branch, Catrina (Zack) Campbell of Fort Branch, and Hannah (Austin) Baumgart of Haubstadt; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Smitha, Khale Campbell, Kholby Campbell, Liam Campbell, Cambrianne Campbell, Teagan Gunn, Wyatt Gunn, and Laila Allen; brother, Gary (Marcia) Overton of Fort Branch; and nieces, Lacy Overton and Lanae Hynema, Sister in law Peggy (Charlie) Beck of Oakland City.

Services will be on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch with Pastor Brian Pullum officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Donations in his honor can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
