Lena Ruth Staton, 91, of Owensville, IN passed away at Transcendent Health Campus on September 12, 2023.  She was born to the late Roscoe and Willie Mae (Thompson) Martin Simpkins on February 29, 1932, in Riner, Virginia.   Along with her parents she is preceded by her husband, Donald Staton; and siblings, Francis Peter's, Elizabethton, TN and Roscoe Martin II, Christiansburg, Virginia.

Lena was a bookkeeper for International Steel, enjoyed yardwork, working with her flowers, knitting and loved her record collection of big band music. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Owensville.

She is survived by her son, Ed (Lisa) Staton of Owensville; and a daughter, Donna Lee (Timothy) White, Lincoln, Montana.  Sisters, Essie Moore, Alta Vista, Virginia, Madeline Kirkpatrick, St. Petersburg, Florida and Virginia Williams, Columbia. Missouri.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at a later date in Salem, Virginia.
