Leona H. Sokeland, 92, of Fort Branch, IN. Passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Owensville Manor in Owensville, IN. He was born to the Late Frank and Lena (Basendorfer) Wilderman on Nov. 4, 1911 in Gibson Co. IN. Besides her parents leona is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Sokeland in March of 1972. Leona was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, IN. Sheloved to dance, play cards and quilting. She is survived by 3 children, Donald Ray Sokeland of Owensville, IN, Betty Seibert of Oronoco Minn., and Bobbie Joe Sokeland of Fort Branch, IN. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A mass of christian burial will be conducted on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Father Tony Ernst will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call for visitation on Monday, from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch. A rosary will be recited by the church at 7:30 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
