Darlene Purcell passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021. She was born June 10, 1949, to Max Hickrod and Delores Kruse Beard. She is survived by her son, David Purcell; 2 daughters, Jackie Martin and Lisa Bailey; grandchildren, Brittany Martin, Caydan Bailey, and Bray Lea Bailey; sisters, Connie Reed and Michelle Hickrod; brothers, Tim Hickrod, Tracy Beard, and Troy Hickrod; brothers in law, Mike Reed and Jim Purcell, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Her close friends include Penny, Nona, Marsha, Marianne, and Dorothy.

Darlene attended Marlette Grade School and graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1967. She worked as a patient care tech and at various restaurants throughout her life, including growing up at Max's Snack Bar. She was a member of the Hope Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Purcell, her father, mother, and niece Tara Reed.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch and service at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hope Community Church.
