Lois A. Harpe

Lois A. Harpe, 89, of Fort Branch, IN, was called to her heavenly home on January 7, 2026, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. She was born in Rome, IN, on April 30, 1936, to George and Daisy (Shoemaker) Shellenberger.

After graduating from Cannelton High School in 1955, Lois married Albert and first moved to New Albany, IN, before settling in Fort Branch when Albert started work at the new PSI plant, now Duke Energy.

A member of Bethel Memorial Church and AARP, Lois enjoyed crocheting and knitting in her younger years until she could no longer continue due to hand pain. In recent years, she liked visiting the senior center in Princeton and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Albert Harpe; siblings Irvin Glore, Doris Parker, Helen Popp, Rodney Shellenberger, Harry Shellenberger, Lorretta Salmon, Donald Shellenberger, David Shellenberger and Lillian Ahl.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Donna) Harpe of Fort Branch and Lois Jane (Steve) Reynolds of Henderson, KY; brother-in-law Robert (Carolyn) Harpe of Tell City, IN; grandchildren Heather (Kyle) DeBord, Ryan Harpe, Craig (Amber) Harpe, and Chris Reynolds; great-grandchildren Carter and Elliott DeBord, Willow, Danni, and Andi Harpe; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Stodghill Funeral Home, with Pastor Tammy Scheller officiating. Visitation is from noon until service time, followed by burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
