Obituary

M. Dalyne (Brewer) Mooney, age 74, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at her home. Dalyne was born on August 3, 1950 in Greenville, KY to Dallas Newman and Wanda Nadine (Addison) Brewer. She married Franklin Ray Mooney on August 21, 1971 in Princeton, IN. Surviving is her husband, Frank; her daughter, Rhiannon Rotondo of Dunlap, IL; her grandsons, Brody and Zane Rotondo of Dunlap, IL; her sister, Debbie (partner James Farmer) Bray of Owensville, IN; her nephew, Cody (Sarah) Geary of Chillicothe, IL; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Wall of Houston, TX her uncle Bermon Addison of Henderson, KY and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, stillborn twin daughters and her two brothers, Timothy Brewer and Danny Newman Brewer and nephew, Jason Geary.

Dalyne graduated with her Associates Degree from Lincoln Trail College in Illinois and was the co-owner and founder of Insurance Services Incorporated in Peoria for 40 years. She also owned Full Moon Designs Boutique in Chillicothe. She was a member of Chillicothe Bible Church. Dalyne was a talented artist and enjoyed showing her creative side through jewelry making, drawing and painting. She was always working on some project. She was a free spirit and unapologetically herself, which is rare. Dalyne had a multifaceted personality. In a world full of so much conformity and vanilla, she was like a splash of cayenne pepper and glitter. As strong and fierce as she was, she was equally soft, loving and empathetic. No matter whom you were, she had the inate ability to make you feel loved, at home and like family. If she loved you, it was for life and she would always have your back. With a unique and quirky sense of humor, she would laugh until she cried. Dalyne was beauty and grace with the ability to fit in at a queen's gala, while also being down to earth and equally comfortable at a backyard barbeque. One of her love languages was giving. Rarely, did she greet you without giving you some token showing she had been thinking of you. She lived for her family and would go to the ends of the earth for them. A soul like hers is rare and a hole is left in the hearts of all that loved her. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the world. That world is a little less bright now without her, as no matter what it may have been, she left an imprint wherever she went.

A private family graveside will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be held here in Illinois at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe, IL and Stodghill Funeral Home in Ft. Branch, Indiana.
