Mable E. Martin, 93, of Fort Branch, IN. went home to be with the lord on, Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN. She was born on Oct. 19, 1917 in Oakland City, IN to the late Rev. Temas and Minnie (Hopper) Taylor. She was a member of the Fort Branch General Baptist Church. Mabel graduated from Booneville High School in 1935 and was a graduate of the Lockyear Business College. She enjoyed square dancing, Traveling and camping with her husband, and loved to cook. Besides her parents, Mabel is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Martin, who passed away on Nov. 10, 2003, 2 brothers Prentice and Walter Taylor, and a daughter inlaw, Eileen Martin. She is survived by her son and wife Charles and Connie Martin of Mentor OH, a sister and her husband Dorothy and Argle Marshall of Booneville, IN, 5 grandchildren, Tec Sgt. of the USAF, James ( Debbie) O"Brien, Troy (Christina) Hodge, Rodney Hodge, Anthony (Jamie) Hodge, Jonathan (Melissa) Hodge, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nepews. a Celebration of Life will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, Rev. Steve Akins and Rev. Ken Reeder will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at the funeral home. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to VNA Plus.
